Eduroam XP how-to

 

Note: If you don't already have a username and password for eduroam supplied by SI, you can ask it by filling an helpdesk.


  • Click Start and then Control Panel.
  • With your mouse right button click Wireless Connection
  • Open the Properties tab.

  • In the Wireless Network tab click Add.
  • Click on

  • Type eduroam at the SSID line.
  • Tick the option Connect even if not broadcasting (if that option appears )
  • In Network Authentication, select WPA.
  • In Data encryption, select TKIP.

  • Change to the Authentication tab
  • Untick Authenticate as computer when computer information is available
  • Select Protected EAP (PEAP)
  • Finally, click on Properties.

  • Untick Validate server certificate
  • Tick Enable Fast Reconnect
  • Click Configure

  •  Untick the check box

In the right bottom corner, near the clock a balloon will pop-up, asking for your credentials. Please click it.

Fill the username and password fields. The user must have the following format: [username]@itqb.unl.pt, for exemple john@itqb.unl.pt.

You should now be connected to the eduroam network.
